Workshop Design and Facilitation
Creative thinking, decision-making, and strategic planning in tailor-made human-centered design sessions that lead to making meaning and driving action.

Fundación Grupo Social is one of the largest foundations in Colombia. Their work focuses on identifying underserved communities in different regions of the country where they can work with citizens to create conditions that significantly improve their quality of life. I designed and facilitated a workshop for their Bogotá regional team to ideate new actions and activities that they can implement to foster cohesion among neighbors in an apartment complex for low-income households and nearby areas.

The Coffee 5.0: Technology Transformation Model managed by ALO&Partners, Makaia, the Lavazza Foundation, and Microsoft seeks to empower coffee growers in Colombia and the worlds through technology, connectivity and digital tools. I designed and facilitated a Human-Centered Design workshop that brought together thought leaders, industry experts and multi-disciplinary actors to think about new possibilities, ideas and actors that should come to the table in order to scale and replicate the Model, enabling better productivity and thus improving the quality of lives of coffee farming communities.

The Belize Family Life Association is constantly identifying new interventions and activities that can make it more sustainable and thus allow it to offer Sexual and Reproductive Health products and services. I co-designed and co-facilitated a workshop for their leadership team where they could create a Business Model Canvas that leveraged their narrative and communications strategy. The workshop helped them build a solid value proposition for a social enterprise within the Association.

In 2016, I was part of a team that designed and facilitated a creative and strategic set of workshops for the Latin American Conference to Reduce Inequities in Sexual and Reproductive Health (LAC2016). Some of the sessions we designed and facilitated included the creation of a market where countries and organizations could walk around, learn about and metaphorically ‘purchase’ the best solutions offered by different organizations to improve Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights throughout the region.

The Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) strategically prioritized the reduction of Maternal Mortality in 10 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. I was part of the team that designed and co-facilitated a workshop with PAHO representatives from each country, Focal Points, and other PAHO technical professionals to align and prioritize the necessary actions to address this pressing regional challenge.

The Latin American Center of Perinatology, Women and Reproductive Health (CLAP in Spanish)o f the Pan American Health Organization held a strategic meeting in 2016 to analyze and share experiences of countries in the implementation of the World Health Organization’s recommendations to improve maternal and neonatal health. I was part of the team that designed and co-facilitated a workshop with representatives from Ministries of Health, communities, and PAHO focal points throughout Latin America and the Caribbean so that the recommendations could be explained, shared, appropriated and implemented in innovative ways.
